updating Gustav #5

The front tree that luckily fell away from the house.

Limbs in the yard. As you can see, no flooding.

That's our driveway.

That's the tree that broke in half in the back yard, falling on the neighbor's fence.

Still without electricity, but still have the computer and the router on the generator and, surprisingly, still have the DSL.

There is nothing quite like hearing a nearby tree going and waiting to see if it is going to hit the house or not. I am glad yours missed.

[BTW, you know this is Max, right? Your insists on using a nickname in there I do not usually post under.]

Whew! I've been waiting, waiting to hear if you're ok. No flooding is good, no really, really serious damage is great.
Am still concerned about wind speeds coming out of St. Paul, Minn-e-snow-ta this week........
Gonna go bury my head in the sand now. Take care.

hey, max, I would recognize that nickname anywhere. ;) And thanks. [I don't know why the blogger insists on that.]

Faye, I think you're in far more danger there, so be careful. (too bad it can't be declared a national disaster)

My mom finally got power back on Friday. She said most of her town didn't have it though.

You got really lucky not to get any damage with all those high winds and trees around your house.

Damn, Toni. It looks like IKE may be headed your way now! Be sure to batten down whatever hatches you can find and good luck keeping the A/C on.
